Yoga Democracy was founded with the vision to create high quality, sustainable garments that support the people, the planet, and all of the aspects of the yoga lifestyle. Because at Yoga Democracy, yoga isn’t simply physical movement.
Yoga is meditation and mental health. Yoga is flowing through life. Yoga is holding space, for others and ourselves. Yoga is harmony between the outer world, and the inner world. At the end of the day, Yoga Democracy creates clothing to support every aspect of yoga, and those that practice it.
From Plastic, to Pants it starts with our fabric. The materials are made from post-consumer recycled plastic bottles and fishing nets. They use a no-water dyeing process that cuts down on waste. And, we take every scrap of material that passes through the shop, and turn it into something of use and beauty.
Yoga Democracy prides itself on supporting local community and economy through their dedication to manufacturing in the US. Co-founder, lead seamstress and creative captain Haley Byfield personally begins the sewing process on every single product they produce.
Yoga Democracy was founded with the desire to give back. To create higher quality, longer-lasting products for the yogis (and potential yogis) around the world, but also to create a thriving, inclusive community. For us, building community includes being a member of 1% For the Planet and donating a portion of our proceeds to organizations that better the world.
